Frequently Asked Questions

Before You Book

Generally speaking, classes are from Monday-Friday, 8 am to 6 pm (individual arrangements on request). Group classes may take place throughout the day, with our evening Hindi Group Courses usually scheduled from 7-9 pm. Currently our German intensive courses are taught Monday-Friday, either in the morning (10am-1pm) or the afternoon (3-6pm). We also offer evening courses (on three weekdays, 6:30-9pm), and weekend courses (Saturdays&Sundays, 10am-1:30pm). While German A1/A2 intensive courses are usually running all the time, evening and weekend courses might not always be offered for all levels. Please check our current schedule under Upcoming Courses for the latest updates.
Yes, as a new customer, your first class with Language Must will be a non-binding trial. This applies to Group Courses (check our Upcoming Courses) as well as all other course formats including One-to-One/Customised Courses. For the latter, if you decide to sign up for the course, this session will be counted as your first lesson and charged accordingly.
Usually 4-8 students. We believe that small groups are the most effective way to learn languages. This way, teachers are able to respond to students as well as give each student more time to actively participate in class
Yes, all our Customised Courses (including individual 1-to-1 courses and catch-up classes) offer you this option, but please understand that there are limitations in terms of timings (evening are possible, but more difficult to arrange). Yes, but only for groups or company courses. The fees may be slightly above those mentioned in each category due to the additional time it takes us to reach you in Gurgaon.
This depends on your specific needs and preferences. For starters, some people enjoy learning in a group, while some people can focus better in a One-to-One setting. One-to-One classes offer an additional flexibility in terms of time, location and intensity. For people who travel often, One-to-One/Customised Courses are usually the better choice. For people looking for a more economic option, Group Courses are the best choice.
It depends on the amount of time you invest inside as well as outside of the classroom. We encourage our Hindi students to use outside what they have learned in the classroom. Not only do they progress faster but also have more fun learning the language. But even for German or French there are a lot of materials you can use outside class which our teachers will point out to you. All our language courses focus on expressing yourself and enabling you to speak, so you will be starting to speak from lesson 1. On most pages, there is a section “Time required” that gives you details. See, for example: German | Hindi.
No, that’s not a problem. All our Beginners courses start from scratch, and you have the additional excitement of being a new learner. You don’t have to have a background in languages to pick up a new one since that is a lot of learning-by-doing. Grammatical terminology will be explained step-by-step by our teachers.

Our Language Courses

Yes, we do provide exam preparation classes. We have experience preparing students for German (Goethe Certificate), French (Alliance française diplomas) as well as various school exams. Of course, One-to-One/Customised Courses can prepare you for language exams, but many of our Group Courses (German | French) also address exam preparation.
Yes, we issue certificates that document your learning progress, including the amount of hours you have taken. This certificate fulfills the requirements of most employers and organisations. If you want an official language certificate, you will need to take and pass, in case of German, the Goethe exam at Max Mueller Bhavan. See details here: German language courses.
While there is a unified system to classify achievements of language learning for European languages (for example, IELTS for English), there is unfortunately no such system for Hindi. However, Language Must has developed its own system based on the CEFR. More and more employers and institutions accept Language Must’s Hindi certificates and the high quality of learning they stand for. Please see the section on our Hindi courses for more details.
Yes, we do have experience with the curricula of Indian schools for German and French. We know that sometimes the classes at school are quite large, so our students enjoy the personalised attention they get in our classrooms. Your child will feel the difference!
We believe that languages are all about communication – and that is what we focus on in our classes, no matter whether in a One-to-One/Customised or Group Course setting. Our group courses are kept small, with only 4-8 students, to give every student the maximum possibility to speak and practice. That said, we believe that to learn a language systematically, it is important to build your progress on a solid foundation, which is grammar. Our Hindi courses introduce the Devanagari script little by little within the first couple of weeks, and most of our students tell us that they never thought this could be so useful, and even fun!
We choose teaching material according to the needs and requirements of each student. That said, in German Group courses, we use the same course materials as Max Mueller Bhavan, because we believe it helps our students to prepare better for the Goethe Exam. Since July 2015, this is the “Netzwerk” series by Klett-Langenscheidt/Goyal for A1-B1 levels (previously Studio D) and Aspekte 1+2 for B2 level. For Hindi, our teachers use their own materials for the Beginners levels, often supplemented by Teach Yourself Complete Hindi by Rupert Snell, especially at higher levels.
Yes, homework is an essential part of learning a language and we strongly encourage our students to do homework. From an economic point of view, doing homework and revisions increases the value of each hour paid for manifold. Doing homework is the fuel to learning a new language: It adds speed, power and a lot of fun!
